epistemic thing – application

When people (e.g. youth) meet informally in the public space, they physically occupy this space. This appropriation is visible for others and has an influence on them, especially on people, who would potentially use this space too. Or on people, who see kind of a threat in either the gathering of a group of (young) people, their behavior (whatever this might be like) and with it in the questioning of their own live, habits, … The development could be a raising conflict between these two groups. Superficial aspects of confrontation often are ‘loud music’, ‘indecent behaviour’ or ‘always complaining’ but the core of the conflict most often are the individual needs, fears, prejudices and perceptions.

Would this be the epistemic thing when we try to manage/analyse such conflicts? Happy to read your comments…
