Dr. Bertha Du-Babcock is Associate Professor and Director of CHASS International Exchange Program. She received the Kitty O Locker Outstanding Researcher Award (2008), the Meada Gibbs Outstanding Teaching Award (2004), the Outstanding Article Award in the Journal of Business Communication (2007), and the Outstanding Article Award in the Business Communication Quarterly (2001). Dr Du-Babcock will become Vice President for the Asia-Pacific Region of the Association for Business Communication in November 2009 and is Director-At-Large for the Association. She serves on the editorial review boards for the Journal of Business Communication and Business Communication Quarterly, and has been a guest reviewer for the journals English for Specific Purposes, Management Communication Quarterly, Euro Asia Journal of Management, Journal of Tourism Management, and the IEEE journal. Her theoretical research has centered on first- and second-language communication behaviors in intra-and intercultural business communication using the language-based communications model. Her teaching-related research has focuses on simulations and telecommunication projects that enhance teaching effectiveness in management and organizational communication courses. She has received more than 30 research grants and her work has been published in the Journal of Business Communication,Â Management Communication Quarterly, Business Communication Quarterly, English for Specific Purposes, Journal of Asia-Pacific Business, Journal of Asia-Pacific Communication, and the Intercultural Communication Studies journal.
